While Australia has managed the COVID-19 pandemic exceptionally well, and we have been lucky enough to have come out the other side by experiencing fewer and fewer cases, that doesn’t mean that hairdressers in Australia and beyond shouldn’t be doing their part when it comes to stopping the spread of coronavirus.
As a professional hairdresser Northbridge, these are the steps that we are taking to reduce contact and remain COVID friendly.
Physical Distancing
While it’s somewhat impossible to keep a distance between the hairdresser and the customer, we maintain a physical distance between all other people within our salon. We ask that people maintain a two-metre distance in our waiting room, and we have ensured that the stations in our salon are sufficiently spaced out.
Record Keeping
We keep a detailed record of which staff members we have in on each day, as well as the customers that came in and what time they checked in and checked out. This way, if someone were to contract the virus, we’d be able to let everyone who came into contact with them know that they may be at risk. That is why we take down all details of our customers, including their contact details and how they were feeling that day.
Checking On Wellbeing
We encourage all of our staff members to stay at home if they are feeling unwell and get a COVID-19 test at the first sign of them showing symptoms. We also ask all of our customers to stay home and reschedule their appointments should they not be feeling 100%.
The health of staff and customers should and always does come first.
Hygiene
As per government recommendations, we have put a huge emphasis on hygiene at our salon, with all furniture and equipment being disinfected between customers. We also offer hand sanitiser to our customers and ensure that our staff sanitise their hands and stations throughout the day.
